HackerPack
HackUTD is a weekend-long event where students build apps, hardware, and more. HackUTD provides a venue for self-expression and creativity through technology. People with varying technical backgrounds come together, form teams around a problem or idea, and collaboratively build a unique solution from scratch. Whether you're a frequent hackathon attendee or just getting started, we'd love to see what you can make.
Develop CS & non-CS student relations and skills through hacking challenges. Showcase new technologies through workshops and facilitate meetings with industry leaders who choose to participate in our hackathon!
HackUTD is a student organized hackathon aimed at offering fellow students an outlet for self expression and welcoming everyone with or without experience! HackUTD hosts events that introduce key concepts and relevant topics that new hackers will find useful.
Team formation will be happening virtually this year! Follow the instructions on the linked slide deck to meet people and make groups together. Of course, you might also consider going around ECSW and seeing who you might bump into :)
🔗 Team formation slide deckTo submit your project, use devpost and create a submission in our Devpost before 12:00 PM on Sunday, November 14th. Include as much information as possible, so judges can look at your project before your presentation! To be considered for judging and prizes, you must submit a project on devpost by 12:00 PM.
Judging will work differently depending on if your team is hybrid, in-person, or virtual. *Additionally, if you are submitting a project to the Capital One ‘Best Financial Hack’ challenge, you must submit a 5-minute video to be considered.*
- If you are not comfortable participating in in-person judging, you may also submit a 5-minute video.
- If your team is in-person, a spreadsheet with booth numbers will be posted on the hackathon portal. Booths will be spread out throughout the building, in numerical order. Once you find your booth, judges will start coming around to hear your presentation and judge your projects.
- If your team is virtual, we ask that you submit a video presentation, up to 5 minutes long. This presentation can cover whatever content you want, but ideally should encompass all aspects of your project. Judges will then be shown your video during the judging timeslot.
Lastly, if your team is hybrid, you get to choose how the presentation is done! It can either be done with the 5-minute video, or in-person, depending on your teams decision.
